Photo & Video Release
Last updated 2026-09-22
This is a standard release.
It is written to be fair, plain-language, and conventional for a small Michigan studio, but it has not been reviewed by a Michigan attorney. Review it before relying on it for large-scale commercial use.
What this covers
From time to time, Art Space photographs or records classes, clubs, parties, and events. This release covers how we use any photo or video that includes you or your child, and how to control that permission.
How we use photos and video
With permission on file, we may use photos or video that include you or your child on our website, our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok), in email newsletters, and in printed materials like flyers — always to show what happens at the studio, never to sell your image to anyone else. No payment is made for this use.
Children and parental consent
Under Michigan law, a parent or legal guardian must consent to the use of a minor's photo or video. We only photograph children whose parent or guardian has given written permission, and a child without permission on file is never included in a photo we post.
Tell a staff member when you enrol, or email us at any time, to grant or confirm this permission for your child.
Adults
The same permission applies to adult participants in workshops, parties, and events — we only use your photo or video with your permission.
Granting or withdrawing permission
Permission is entirely optional and can be given or withdrawn at any time by emailing artspace.ypsi@gmail.com or telling a staff member in person. If you withdraw permission, anything already posted comes down as soon as we reasonably can.
Declining or withdrawing this permission never affects your or your child's ability to take part in any Art Space class, club, party, or event.
