About us
Taryn and Kacey are both from the Ypsilanti area and have been friends since high school. They attended Eastern Michigan University together and share a passion for art and literacy. The idea for Art Space began with a TikTok video and one bold thought: “We could create projects like these!”
Together, they left the corporate world and turned that idea into a creative studio where their children — Christian, Makenzie Rainbow and Harlem — and other children throughout the community could explore, learn and create.
Built around three inspiring words — Imagine, Create and Build — Art Space offers engaging children’s programs, creative classes for adults and meaningful community partnerships. Our goal is to provide a welcoming learning environment where everyone has the freedom to express themselves, try something new and bring their ideas to life.
Our promise
Welcoming projects. Encouraging instructors. Room to experiment. Art Space celebrates different interests, learning styles, and ways of creating — because every maker belongs here.
Meet the instructors
Our classes and clubs are taught by people who love this work — including two of our own students, who lead Slime Club and Builders Club.
